Fun Finds...

I had some fun finds this week!  Garage sales have begun to slow down now, but the thrift stores are always open!  I found some nice vintage wood hangers... you can see one of my first posts, where I featured them here .  I showed this fun use...

The tablecloth under the hangers is a nice light ecru color with a rustic finish~ it has a few tiny flaws, but lots of fabric for pillows, runners, or chair seat covers!  Look at the nice fabric texture...

My favorite find this week is this lovely French glass bowl, in a charming silverplate basket stand.  It has a great twisted handle with crosshatching and embossed flowers...

I love the basket decoration and the glass is marked Reims France...

Another fun find this week is a vintage hand mirror and this great chippy tin!

The tin is for Super Extra Marshmallows!  I love the crane decoration and even though it is quite chippy, I love the charming look!

Vintage scenic linen postcards are always something I like to find...

and I love these romantic plates... the first is a hand painted Bavarian...

the second is an antique English Indian Tree plate...

And I'm always looking for a pretty piece of tole... this silent butler has an unusual shape, and lots of pretty hand painted florals!

I'm linking up to My Cottage Charm's Treasures and Trinkets Thursday
and Debbiedoos Garage Salen Party

Watch for my next post~ my blogversary is coming up and a giveaway!!

Until next time...
Linda

  7. Linda. you found some very pretty and vintage things. Love the glass bowl with the silver rim and handle. Why would someone get rid of that? I always wonder.

  8. Had I been thinking and obviously wasn't I would have taken the tall can of hundreds of old hangers so many with cool advertisements when we were helping a relative move.

  12. Wow, you really lucked out this week! I am beginning to have withdrawal symptoms as garage sales are winding down for the season! So I will be visiting thrift stores more, too! My favorite finds of yours are those neat wooden hangers! I really love your idea of displaying artwork and photos. And I am in love with the silent butler! That is a gorgeous piece!

  16. I've been buying those hangers when I run across them too. I think I noticed them on your blog as well as Nancy's over at EllaElaine. Somewhere I saw the edge decorated with paper or lace also...it was really cute.

  30. You did very well in the thrift shops. I love the French basket. I agree with cottage charm, our thrift shops are not as good. In Savannah the dealers know when gw and other thrifts restock and they are there at opening.
Savannah antique shops are pricy because of the tourists. You got lots of GOOD stuff.

  31. I must have seen that original post with the old wood pants hangers. Cute idea, I've been looking for some hangers like that. I should look at my Mom's house, I know we had some like that when we were kids and she never throws anything away.
