Itsy Bits and Pieces 2015 Christmas House Tour...

Christmas is coming soon and I have been doing a little decorating!  Would you like to take a little peek inside?  I always think how fun it would be to look inside houses as I drive by them...home tours give us that chance! It's a bit of a long one...so grab a cup of coffee, or whatever you're having
and come on in...we'll start in the foyer...

After all the bright colors I used for fall, I was ready for a simpler, restful feeling.  Most everything is decorated with green and neutrals...with a few fun pops of red.

I switched out my Dear Lillie chalkboard download for a Christmas style...

I recently hung this clock in the space.  When my father passed away last year, each family member chose clocks from his large collection.  This old clock has seen better days...but spoke to me, and always brings my father close to mind...

We added lots of woodland elements this year...

The porch is always a fun space to decorate...

Most of our greenery is left unadorned this year...

Let's head up to the living room!  We're pretty relaxed and rumpled here with dogs and lots of family...

I love our flocked tree...this year it is decorated in mostly
silver, gold, and white...

These little guys are frequent visitors to our window feeder...their antics are fun to watch...and the birds feed on the other side!

The tree gives a beautiful golden glow to the room...
especially at night...

This studious fellow joined our gallery wall...

The living room connects to the dining/kitchen area...

If you haven't read the story of the Santa Apron, it is a post from 2010.  Filled with my Christmas memories, it remains my most favorite post.  I hope you'll stop by and read it if you get a chance!

Finally, here's a glimpse into the master bedroom...a little red here!

I hope you have enjoyed the tour...and feel like we've shared a little Christmas visit in my home!

Until next time...

  9. I really love every single holiday touch you have, Linda. Simple and perfect. I'm trying for that this year myself. I especially love the wreaths in your living room windows...so traditional and fresh looking. I'm going to follow your lead---I've been puttering all day adding things here and there all over the house instead of decorating room by room. I hope that gives me a more minimal look.

I'm so sorry about your dad. I didn't know. The clock will be a treasure, I know.

  27. I love your whole house, it truly is a beautiful home. It seems so cozy and inviting.

The soft whites and woodland theme are restful and festive. I am so copying the pine cones on a string banner and the little pocket of herbs hung on the cupboard door.

  28. Gosh, Linda, wait a minute, I have something in my eye after reading the Santa Apron. I think good childhood memories ar also why I love decorating for Christmas every year too. It's my gift of love to my family to host the buffet dinner on Christmas Eve so all who are in town can share a glimpse of those memories.
Your home looks so good in holiday decor. I really love your porch, your chalk art, and that tiny little tree in that old fashioned tree stand. I can still remember the smell of that canned snow too! And those hats - loved those. My sisters and I had one each (and remember stocking hats?). Love this post and the related ones. Merry Christmas!

Loving your Simple Organic Styling for the Holidays, including the Chalkboard Elements, which are some of my Favorites this year and we used Chalkboard Tags on our presents... I too kept most of our Greens unadorned and I really liked how it turned out. Smiling at your Fur Babies relaxing... clearly they are Enjoying the Ambiance too! 35. Linda I know what you mean about craving more neutral colors and adding pops of red --although I loved those black skates! There's so much to enjoy throughout your home but the overall feelings is one of warmth and love. I can see your touch in everything. And I might have to borrow your hot choc station idea. I have a tray that will work and I had no idea what to do with it. I was also so happy to read your comment and hear the way you're enjoying the season. Slowing down is a blessing if we can do it :)I hope all is well with you and your family.
