Fun Thrift Store Finds

It's been awhile since I have shared fun thrift store finds with you!  That's because until recently, I hadn't shopped in a thrift store since my knee surgery!
It was so fun to do a little treasure hunting again and I had a few fun finds!

This old corn feed sack is worn and faded, but with the great green color
and $1 price tag...it went home with me.

I'm always attracted to tin litho tins...

Two of them were nice European tins...

This lovely tole mirror was a great find!  I love the flowers and the little shelves...

And this last find is one I found last spring and didn't get a chance to share with you yet.  A wonderful old French corn mold...I don't find things like this in the thrift store everyday...

I'm looking forward to getting out to some more thrift stores and
garage sales soon!  Have you had any fun finds this week?

Until next time...

  2. Hi Linda, It maust have been fun to visit some thrift stores after such a long time. I especially love the red and white tins and the custard mold. I haven't seen one with a corn design before. It's very lovely.

  7. Awesome finds. Glad your knee is on the mend. I would smash some butter into the mold to be used when you have corn on the cob :) Or maybe that's too much effort for one meal!

  8. Love all you finds but the tole mirror is wonderful as is the corn mold. I would have bought them all too.

  10. I'd love to go to the antique mall I like so much, but they have little air conditioning. And it's stifling this time of year.

  11. Yes, the corn mold was a spectacular find. I went to one garage sale this year and came back to the shop with two unique old birdhouse, two cement planters, two large (mint green) Hull vases and I helped the 88 year old woman move all the heavy stuff out of her barn for the sale. She was very funny and very strong! If I could remember where that was (just last week, mind you) I'd go back and visit her. She was a hoot!

  13. So glad to hear you finally got to get out and about and do something you love! Bet it felt good. You always find such wonderful treasures. I rarely go to Goodwill anymore, as there isn't anything I need, plus they've really gone downhill. I used to find great stuff there and now it's mostly junk. There's a couple of privately-owned thrift stores in my area and they're pretty junky, too. So now my far-and-few-between treasures come from a few of my favorite little antique shops. They're not as cost-effective as thrift shop finds, of course, but I've still managed to find decent deals.

  15. You found some really great things but the best part is that you felt well enough to go out and find them. I hope you have a great weekend. xo Diana
ps. I used to have a huge tin collection (including the marshmallow tin) but gave them all away a while back. I think I kept 3 of them. xo Diana

  18. Great finds! The tins are adorable and the feed sack's color is perfection! Sadly, I haven't come across any great finds recently. Maybe it's because I'm purging so I'm not in the buying mode. I'll live vicariously through you and others for now! :)
