Fun Finds and Life

It's been awhile since I've shared some fun finds with you!

I love these two little pieces...a bird planter and a little Dutch girl figurine. Colorful and pretty for spring decorating!

I love the way she is holding her flowers...

A bread board and a carved wood bread plate were added to my collection...

The writing is German~ Our daily bread give us today.

This was a more unusual find at the thrift store...a washboard with a glass insert!  Usually I see these with tin. Some vinegar should clean the glass up nicely.
I love the bleached wood patina...

We have had unseasonably warm weather the last few weeks...you might have seen this photo I posted on My Instagram this week.
Green grass.. in February...in Minnesota.

We were supposed to have a blizzard Friday with lots of heavy snow, but it went mostly south of us and thankfully we ended up with only an inch.
But what a difference an inch makes...

I haven't been out thrifting as often with this knee of mine...
but I'm getting a new knee in a month! Hopefully, after recuperating,
I'll be ready to head out to some of the spring garage sales!
The beautiful spring weather will be an incentive to get moving and get out there!

Did you have any fun finds this week?

Until next time...

  1. Darling little Dutch girl figurine! I was in Duluth browsing through antique shops yesterday, but didn't find what I was looking for. You seem to unearth the best treasures!

Our daughter sent us a video of our grandson learning to ride a bike....in Mpls. in the middle of February! We've still got snow and the cold weather is back. Hopefully you won't get a spring snowstorm when you're recovering from your surgery and you'll be able to get out and about, Linda.

  4. Love your finds, especially the bread board. I pick up most that I find and it's resulted in a big motley crew. Knee replacement is a big deal, but I'll be praying that your recovery will be easy. You'll feel so much better than before. Thanks for sharing your comment about the Thyroid issues. Good to have a support system with these issues! Have a fun weekend!

  5. Love your Dutch girl figurine. My step father was Dutch & they always remind me of him as he gave my mother similar things for their house. My heartfelt best to you on your knee. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. XOXO

  6. Great finds!! I love that carved bread plate, that's awesome! Green grass here too, so strange to see it again. The weather will be changing tonight back to winter so I took advantage and went for a nice long walk this morning - felt so good to be outdoors!

I hope your knee replacement goes well and the recovery, too. This is a good time to do it before the weather really warms up and you want to get out! Best wishes...keep us posted.

  13. Fun finds! We've been really warm too. It's felt like late spring instead of late winter. Really strange. Has me wondering what spring will be like.

What amazing weather contrasts.... cold, grey, damp and drizzly here today.

    Good luck with your operation.

  16. You always find the sweetest things, Linda! Love the little Dutch girl! Your birdhouse in the yard is cute, too! Our weather has been fickle this month - one day it is warm and sunny, the next it is snowing. We are snowing today.....Hope your surgery goes well and that you will be up and around in no time. My girlfriend had both knees replaced over the last couple of years and she is out walking or riding her bike every day now. I'll be thinking of you. Sending hugs xo K

  18. You always find the greatest stuff! I'm in love with that little bird planter. Well, tomorrow is my knee surgery, but I'm thankful that it's "only" arthroscopic. I'm sorry that you have to have a knee replacement, but I know that you'll feel so much better when you're healed from that surgery.
