Weighing In...Fun Thrift Store Finds

Last week I was able to get out to the thrift store a couple of times and had some fun finds!  A long time thrifter,
there are still times I am quite surprised by what I find!

I paid more for this than I usually pay for things in a thrift store...$25...but, if you're familiar with pieces like this, you know it was a steal!  It is a big 60 pound Chatillon hanging produce scale! I've long wanted one of these
and didn't think twice before grabbing this beauty.

I love the big galvanized tray on this one...it will be wonderful when I get it hung up!  I can imagine it holding plants,
kitchen linens, or decorated seasonally.
Any ideas?  How would you use it?

I found a few fun smaller items, too.
I love the twisted wire on this metal basket...

This old carved wooden spoon was made from a branch...

I always love finding wood bowls.  This long, newer one holds some big faux eggs that I also found that day...

The last find I'll share today is this large, wooden cookie mold.  Not terribly old, it is signed by the maker on the back and dated 1967.  It has joined my cutting boards...

I am joining~

Also my newest post is up over on the Novica Blog!
I hope you'll stop by and check it out!

Until next time...

  2. Awesome, Linda on the scale, but I am loving that spoon a whole lot too! Hmmm....I would probably put my lavender buds in it, which would be fun to watch the scale tip each tip I loaded it up. :)
