A Simple Color Re-Do...

Our sunporch is still a work in progress and this year we have been going with more of a  light farmhouse look for the decor.  We have a long, old, dark wood dining table, and lately have been using a couple of black wooden IKEA benches for lots of seating.
I decided a simple little bench re-do was in order...

Using some DecoArt American Decor Chalky Finish paint, I gave each bench a couple of coats with the Everlasting color. I then distressed with a sanding block, sealed with a coat of clear wax, and finally buffed them with a soft cloth.

I love the lighter look of the benches in the room now...a simple change!

I am a blogger for DecoArt, and used paint I received from them...
all opinions are my own.

Until next time...

  2. Great benches, Linda! I love the size of them and they seem to suit your table perfectly. Love the new color, too. I have really got to get to Ikea. I've been seeing things all week from there on other blogs that I would like to get.

  3. Linda! Love the new paint on the bench seating.
I love EVERYthing about the last photo too. My favorite part. Your unfinished drywall and rustic beams.
This say... "welcome to my home, I'm so glad to see you." I can tell you have a gift of hospitality.
    ...I love reading here. :)

  7. Well, that was easy. I love the idea that with benches you can always squeeze one more person at the table :)

  8. Linda - I would never guess that those were IKEA benches now with the distressed look. If I ever get out of this tiny condo :-) I've got big plans for my dining room pieces. Thanks for the inspiration! Ann
