Signs of Spring...

I am excited for spring weather around here...even though we had 8" of snow last week (during Junk Bonanza!) and another 2-4" will fall tonight!  It does melt quickly now and 66 degrees is predicted for next weekend!  I can't wait...it has been a long winter!  Below is the view from my sunporch...you can see winter still has its grip!

You might remember when I shared my porch last summer.  We have been re-doing it, and it's finally warm enough to start work again.  Since the photo below was taken last summer, the sheetrock is up and it is starting to look more like a finished room!  I am actually looking for garden furniture for this space now.  While I love the table, the old chairs aren't working well for the space...they are too small and wobbly...

I am thinking about using garden furniture as I think it would hold up well here.  I love the look of wicker style with wood and think something like this would be perfect...

I think it would go so well with the natural decorating elements I love so much!  I can hardly wait to finish the construction and start spending time out here again!

And as for those signs of spring I mentioned in the title of this post...robins are everywhere...

and our daylilies are sprouting!!  Maybe spring really is around the corner!

Disclosure~ I received compensation for the links in this post, but the opinions are my own...

Next time, I'll share some photos from our space at Junk Bonanza!

  2. How exciting, Linda! I love wicker, and think it would be perfect for your porch. It is colder than normal here too, but at least our snow has melted. This morning I was watching a pair of robins start to build a nest in our old Christmas tree that we have propped up in the back yard. They weren't very happy with a squirrel that kept trying to interfere!!

  8. Glad to see you have some glimpses of spring. I love my faux wicker furniture. It looks like real wicker (or so I keep telling myself), but isn't as brittle.

  9. Linda, I know your porch is going to be amazing when you get it all pulled together! I can't imagine having snow on the ground this time of year...you are much hardier than I am!

I'm glad you had such a good time at Junk Bonanza!

  10. We have more snow than that even though we didn't get much last weekend. The pile we had has gone down very slowly. I will be watching for your garden room.

  11. Oh my heavens! Look at that snow! I'm happy you are starting to see signs of spring because that just looks wintery to me. Oh, and I love your porch...it reminds me of how our dining area looks with the big windows and the french doors. We are having warmer temps and blue skies this whole week, so everyone is outside...it's so nice! (yea, I'm still the crazy one that's outside in the rain too! LOL)

  20. I'm so excited about the weather we are to have this weekend. It's actually nice out right now but most of my lawn is still under snow. Hopefully by saturday it will be all gone.

I love your porch area. It will be so fun to decorate. I love the idea of using wicker furniture. It would look so nice.
