Old Natural History Art...

I love beautiful old Natural History art!  Awhile ago, I found a wonderful 1895 book at the used book store entitled~
"The Geological and Natural History Survey of Minnesota 1885-1892 Paleontology".  It is an oversized leather bound book with over 400 pages and 41 plates featuring some great naturalist art.

The end papers are beautiful...

Isn't the artwork wonderful? Love the graphic black on white...

The book is in such wonderful condition, that I want to keep it whole...but I plan to make high quality scans for display...

High on my wish list is a pocket display system picture wall ...for a great industrial look that is easily changed out when I want to display something different...

I love vintage with a modern twist...

Such beautiful old art...don't you think?

I received compensation for this post feature, but the opinions are my own...

Until next time...

  3. These are gorgeous,
    and YES, they would
    go beautifully in a
    modern decor as well
as in a vintage or a
    traditional one!

    Hooray for getting
    compensated for your
    posts!

  4. Linda what a great idea to make high quality scans and display them. Would love to see that! Love when you say: "I love vintage with a modern twist..." For me it would be more: Love modern with a vintage twist hehehe You should see my mom's house in Portugal so much vintage stuff it's crazy. :) Love that place can't wait to go back again.

  5. Those are gorgeous. I love those old scientific type drawings. The New York Public Library has a site where you can print off different drawings they have, but every time I go on there I get lost in all the different images and can't decide which ones I want to print off, so I haven't printed any off yet. Your pocket display area sounds like a fantastic idea.

  23. What a beautiful book! I would definitely just scan the pages in order to display them too. I have some great vintage French magazines that I made color copies of and framed...you can't even tell the difference. xo
