Winter Mantel and Simple Snowflake Project...

I have been packing away the Christmas decorations this week... very slowly...as I have been down with the cold/flu sweeping the whole family right now.  Thought I'd share a few winter changes!  The mantel now celebrates winter!  Remember the big rusty reindeer I showed you at the Bachman's Holiday Ideas House?  This is the smaller size I bought for my home!  Don't you love how branches are used for antlers?

Pinecones add a simple natural element...along with a couple of feather and primitive trees...

I loved my mantel covered with bottle brush trees for Christmas...but am enjoying the simple winter look now, too!

I had a house full of grandchildren this weekend and they helped me with a fun winter project I found on Pinterest!  These cute snowflakes were so easy to make and look great on the windows, too...the kids loved the project!  We just used ordinary printer paper.  You can click HERE for the easy patterns and instructions!

  16. Since we've decided to have our belated Christmas at our daughter's house, I took down the decorations this weekend. Now I'm looking at bare mantels and wondering what to do with them. I love the glittery SNOW letters you've got draped across yours and the deer, too!

The snowflakes look perfect on your windows.

  17. I think it's beautiful that you brought in a natural element- pinecones. Proves that you don't need to look far to find the right finishing touch.
