Fun Finds...And A Great Basket...

Isn't this a great looking crate?  It's one of my thrift store finds last week.  I love the handles!  I'm going to add old casters and it will be headed to Junk Bonanza in September.  I think it would make a great magazine storage box...

A dark aqua stoneware bowl and a sweet tea leaf plate will be nice additions to my hutch in the future...

beautiful crazing...

I love vintage dictionaries...this one is only 4" X 6", but has 380 pages...

This little stool was made by Cushman Colonials in Bennington, Vermont~ the peg construction was done in the colonial style...

My favorite find of the day is this handled wire basket!  Such a great style with the chippy paint and wear...the handles and interior slats are wood.

After cleaning it, I sealed the piece with polyurethane...and now it holds TP in the bathroom!  I love the industrial look of this...

Thanks for all of your comments about the fun old grocery stampers...they sold out quickly!

I am joining the Monday Marketplace party over at Common Ground
and Nifty Thrifty Tuesday at Coastal Charm!

Until next time...

  5. Linda...
My, my, my....you did find some goodies! And your ideas...all the better.

We were recently at an auction with two rings...my Dave mentioned he had won a box of dishes at the ring he was following, but had left behind some of the dishes under a tree for others to take. I zoomed over to find a stack of Tea Leaf plates he assumed I wouldn't want...won't make that mistake again (smile).

  14. great stuff...the plate you found is the tea leaf pattern - it has a slight copper gleam to it...its English - either Wedgewood or Meakin...I'm not a big dish/china collector - but I collect tea leaf china...so of course I envy your plate!

  18. Ok...we have exchanged inspirations....cause I have a wire basket in my garage I just bought, but it doesn't have the old chippy wood in the bottom of it. (but it will now!) :) So glad you liked my button monograms...and double glad they gave you some inspiration! Can't wait to see what you do! :)
I wish you could come over to the house for about a week, I could use help...I'm rearranging rooms and working on displays, and you're SO good at that! :) We live TOO far apart! :-(
    Have a great week girlfriend!

  24. The wood in the bottom of that basket sold it for me. What a good idea. I bet it looks really great in your bathroom! Such fun stuff. I'm with you about the casters, they always make a hard to resist addition to things! It'll probably sell in no time. I hope so!

  31. You even make tp look fun! I have a weird thing about dictionaries also. I probably have ten of them in all different sizes and ages. When was the last time someone actually used a dictionary anyhow?
