The Bachman's Summer Ideas House 2011

Time for the Bachman's Summer Ideas House 2011 tour!   For those of you who are just learning of this inspiring house...Bachman's is a well-known floral, gift, and garden business in the Twin Cities area.   The house is a historical family home on the flagship store property and is now used to showcase ideas and products, as well as raising money for the Children's Home Society and Family Services.  It is always full of wonderful ideas.  There are links to previous houses on my sidebar, if you'd like to see more!  And the Spring 2011 Ideas House is here.  I'll break this tour into four posts.
I had a wonderful girls' day out there with my sweet friend, Suzanne, of  Privet and Holly !  We toured the house, shopped the store, and had a leisurely lunch at the great Patrick's Bakery and Cafe at Bachman's!  A perfect day!
The tour starts in the front porch.  The theme this time is "New Naturals Celebrate the Outdoors."  The porch features a dining and serving area, and lots of plants and garden ideas!  These fun lockers provide storage next to the door...

I love the vintage beverage crate used as a bar...

and the garden rake used as a wine glass holder!

Chicken feeders were used in many places for plants...lots of succulents!

Vintage garden fencing, with a glass top makes a fun table...

The dining room features more natural elements...

Mirrored cake pans hang above the salvaged wood wine rack...

Aren't these placecard holders cute?

Here's a lovely beverage serving bar...

and plants displayed in test tubes...

The light fixture used twig garden fencing for an unusual chandelier...

The cheery kitchen is next!

I love this wooden spoon chandelier...

and this great vintage garden gate repurposed as a pot and display rack!

A large breadboard was painted to serve as a chalkboard!

The colors in the open shelving are charming~ and don't miss the wooden spool cabinet door handles!

Look at this!  A vintage shopping cart provides more storage!

Isn't this a fun cookbook rack?  Chicken feeders are wall mounted on a burlap background...

And it's magnetic, too!

Well, that's it for part one...next time we'll tour the Living Room, Sunroom, and Bathrooms!

Until next time...
Linda

  15. Linda,
That is so cool. I love naturals. Not for me but for others who do them well. Sometime I will make it there. Is it really summer? I am in San Francisco with Jud for a wedding and I feel like I have been gone forever. We left last Thursday. We are having a great time with old friends from Rapid City, where we lived for nine years. Jud is feeling pretty good (thank God) and I have a terrible cold. I keep trying to put you on my blogroll and I can't get it to work but I will not forget you.
my favorite item is the spoon chandelier. So fun!
    Big hugs,
    Suz
