A New Winter Mantel...

The Christmas decorations are still coming down, and I'm having fun putting the house back together!  Today I re-did the mantel in our entryway for winter... you might recognize some of the pieces from other vignettes...

I used many white tones here~ a wood candleholder and a vintage clock...

I love the look of the old jewelry decorating the candlestick holder...look at the sweet little child's ring...

and the engraved heart...

I always love old skates~ especially with cute laces and a little trophy...

A charming little old chippy chalkware dog statue on old books makes me smile...

I re-used this old baby photo, layered against the mirror, with a jar of dice, and used an old tarnished silverplate trophy to hold a chippy old metal French Fleur-de-Lis...

A large bottle full of pearly white buttons sits next to a vintage bingo cage filled with wood bingo balls...

and my glittered  "SNOW" letters are hung over the mirror...

for a simple, fun mantel vignette for winter!

Until next time...wishing you all the happiest of New Years!

  11. Hey Linda! Thank you for your sweet comments, I love my island too! :)
I LOVE your mantel, you always have the best vintage stuff...makes me want to come shop your house! :) I have been trying to find a pair of old white skates myself, but they're getting harder and harder to find! My mom had some black ones, we spray painted the leather on them a pretty pink and I painted some pink and white roses on the sides...oh did they turn out beautiful! I think I'll take some time this year and do some blogging on my mom's house..it's lovely!
Hope you have a wonderful and blessed new year my friend, and I pray God gives you the desires of your heart!
    Love you!
    Missy
    PS...I'm so glad we're friends too! :)

  29. Linda,
Hi girl, hope you had a Merry Christmas. I love your winter mantel & decorations. I love the idea of keeping some of the decorations up after Christmas. It's just too sad to take it all down. I think I'll have to copy your 'snow' banner, even tho it's 70 degrees here! Happy NY, Lisa
