Simple Christmas Pillows

Well, I did it.  This week I started Christmas decorating.
I have been working on quite a few projects to share,
and I'll be sharing our Christmas Tour, as well...so it's time!
(As if I needed a reason.)

Today I'm sharing a simple Christmas pillows project!

Simple Christmas pillow project- Itsy Bits And Pieces

This year, I have really been attracted to red and white quilts. I actually bought one for my bedroom recently, and it set the direction for some of my Christmas decor!

Pillow covers are such an easy way to quickly change out the look in our homes.

My oh-so-creative friend, Angie, of the Knick of Time blog has her own line of Vintage Sign Stencils and sent me a couple for my project!

I used her Farmhouse Barn Quilt Miniatures Stencil for one design.

She also has these in a large size, three separate stencils, or a set of three.  I used the Bear Paw Quilt Block for my other design.  I used white pillow covers I bought on Amazon for my project. You may also be able to find covers
at your craft or sewing store...or even make your own.

For your convenience, I'm including
an affiliate link for a cotton canvas pillow cover...

When I am stenciling a pillow cover I always use a large piece of cardboard inside to prevent any possible paint bleed-through between layers.  You use a pretty dry brush, though, so it's not much of a problem...but better safe than sorry.
There are fabric paints you can get if you want to be able
to wash the covers...I just used craft paint for mine.

I found a great vintage throw at the thrift store...the colors
are perfect for Christmas...and I love how it looks
on my old wicker chair with the quilt block pillows!

Thank you, Angie!  I love using your stencils,
and look forward to using these again in more projects!

Until next time...I'll be putting on the greens...

  3. Linda, Such a pretty start to your decorating. Sweet pillows that you can use at Valentines and 4th of July. I really want to find some throws at the G.W. ...always wash and dry them. I have an old blanket that was my mom's...it's kind of like that throw . Blessings, xoxo, Susie
