A Halloween Mantel...and a Little Giveaway...

We're having a lot colder weather here..and with all the fall colors and falling leaves,  it definitely feels like October here!  Time for a little Halloween decorating!  Last week I
re-did a mantel using fun seasonal elements and neutral colors...

I use the topiaries all year, as well as the old wall sconces and the black mirror.  Stacking a vintage mirror with a great worn patina, is decorative and adds interest...and bat silhouettes from the dollar store give a spooky touch!
Recently, I received my fall catalog from Victorian Trading Co. and the cover featured a wonderful antique cat portrait.  I cut it out and glued it to a white plate.  They have prints available on their website (not a sponsor).

I used a Halloween banner garland that I made several years ago...

THIS GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED

If you'd like to make your own banner or do some crafting...I'm having a little giveaway.  One of my readers will receive three vintage game card letter card sets...one "HALLOWEEN", one "THANKSGIVING", and one "CHRISTMAS".  I'll also include five vintage Bingo cards to play or decorate with.

 *THIS GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED*
If you are interested in entering the giveaway, just let me know in a comment!  And please check your blogger user profile to be sure your email is enabled so I can reach you if you win...many of you are no-reply users (especially if you use google+).  The giveaway ends Friday October 10th, 9 PM CST.
Good Luck!

Until next time...

  15. Linda, Your Halloween banner is darling and it is good to know you still use what you love, even if it was made a year or two ago. Your mantel ideas always make me smile. I love topiaries and they always seem to accent in whatever nook or cranny we decide to place them. Thank you for the fun giveaway! lstrack2012 at gmail.com
