Thank You Somerset Home Magazine!

I just returned from a long weekend away and had a surprise waiting for me in the mail...the latest copy of Somerset Home Magazine ...which included one of my projects!

Do you remember when I made these pillows last spring?  Well, shortly after I posted them on my blog, I heard from Beth Livesay, managing editor at Somerset Home magazine!  To make a long story short, my pillows headed out to California and (pinch me...) I ended up writing an article for the Volume 7 edition which goes on sale August 1st!

The article is on pages 106-108...

The magazine is loaded with beautiful ideas and projects for your home!
Thank you so much to Beth Livesay for all her help and encouragement, and Somerset Home magazine for including my article!  It has been a wonderful experience!

Until next time...I'll still be floating on Cloud Nine...

The Summer Garden...And an Update...

It is high summer in Minnesota...very hot, like much of the rest of the country.  Our gardens have moved into a summer phase, too...

the last of the lilies... such spectacular color...

There's not as much blooming this year...so dry and hot.  Today I stopped in at the garden store and picked up a few color spots~ annuals and perennials~ to take the garden over into fall.  This yarrow is the most wonderful color...

This variety has an unusual greenish-yellow tone...

Here's a rudebeckia with large blossoms...

I always love to add zinnias into the garden~ they are my favorite flowers...

Signs of fall are seen now, too...the mum plants are huge...

and the apple trees are heavily laden with fruit.  I love how the gardens change with the seasons!

Before I go... a little update on this basket I shared on my last post.  You might recall I used it for TP in the bathroom...

Well, it brought out my husband's creative side, as every time I walked in the room...he had given me a new arrangement.  So glad to provide him with a little entertainment lol!

Hope you have an entertaining weekend, too!

Until next time...

Fun Finds...And A Great Basket...

Isn't this a great looking crate?  It's one of my thrift store finds last week.  I love the handles!  I'm going to add old casters and it will be headed to Junk Bonanza in September.  I think it would make a great magazine storage box...

A dark aqua stoneware bowl and a sweet tea leaf plate will be nice additions to my hutch in the future...

beautiful crazing...

I love vintage dictionaries...this one is only 4" X 6", but has 380 pages...

This little stool was made by Cushman Colonials in Bennington, Vermont~ the peg construction was done in the colonial style...

My favorite find of the day is this handled wire basket!  Such a great style with the chippy paint and wear...the handles and interior slats are wood.

After cleaning it, I sealed the piece with polyurethane...and now it holds TP in the bathroom!  I love the industrial look of this...

Thanks for all of your comments about the fun old grocery stampers...they sold out quickly!

I am joining the Monday Marketplace party over at Common Ground
and Nifty Thrifty Tuesday at Coastal Charm!

Remember When?

Last year I found a vintage grocery price stamping set!  Do you remember when they stamped the grocery store prices on the items?  I remember purple ink, and sometimes it came off on your hands.  I can just imagine a clerk finding the right price stamper... some of these prices are really different from today...and stamping each can and box...

The stampers are about 7" long each and made of wood.

At one end, these decorative metal numbers...

at the other, the price stampers...

Love the prices!

I think they have a great industrial look, too!

These fun markers are in my Itsy Bits And Pieces ETSY SHOP now.  I've been adding lots of goodies lately!

I am joining Debra at Monday Marketplace
