Glimpses From The Sunporch...

Our sunporch is a work in progress.  Originally a deck, it has evolved over the years into a screened porch, and finally into a sunporch.  It is still being finished off, but is hard to get any work done as it is the most relaxing space...and we tend to take a lot of naps out here!  It seemed like a good time to share some glimpses of the space, with the Fourth of July nearly here.  We decorate with red, white, and blue and vintage Americana, out in this space year round!  Thought you might enjoy seeing some of the vignettes, even though we are still under construction!

And we aren't the only ones who nap out here...

Thank you for all of your nice comments on my last post...I hope to stop by and visit soon...lots of summer fun has been going on around here lately!

Things of Beauty...

Not exactly the beautiful things you were expecting, huh?  If you've been following my blog for awhile, you know I love vintage sporting goods!  Remember this urn I bought at a garage sale recently?  Well, it is on our table in the sunporch filled with these beautifully worn goodies...

For me, these are each like little works of art...a sweet name written in childhood...

 beautifully worn and chippy leather...

old lacing...

And I love how they look in the urn, too...

How about you...things of beauty?

Little Goodies...

Isn't he a cutie?  Recently, at a garage sale, I found two small boxes full of cute little goodies...vintage cupcake toppers!
These little gnomes are made of rubber and were probably part of a Snow White set.  Wouldn't they be fun in a fairy garden?

This wonderful set of little rubber birds would be charming there too!  I hadn't seen any like these before...

There were lots of hard plastic holiday toppers, too... like these Santas...

little felt stockings...

Halloween toppers...

Valentines...

and Easter pieces...

These might have been used for baby showers...

I remember when all the bakeries used these and I always used to save mine to re-use on our homemade cupcakes...a fun find!

Until next time...

Vintage Watering Cans...

Don't you love the look of galvanized watering cans in the garden?  I was lucky to find a couple at a garage sale last year!  The garden isn't needing much watering with all the rain and storms we've had of late.  Everything is lush and the first of my Asiatic lilies are blooming... a deep red orange color that lights up the whole garden!

The watering cans each have a little different styling...this one has a wide handle...

and a painted spout.

The second can is more worn...

with a rusty spout,

and a chippy blue painted handle.

I brought out a few goodies to play with in the photos!  I always pick up old quilt pieces to use as runners and accents...so charming! The patterns and colors are perfect here.

I placed the cans on this great old crate I found at a garage sale recently- it was used to hold a window! I've not had one like this before.  I love the patina and plan to use it in a industrial style table project...

Look at the great bold graphics...

Do you have any old watering cans for your garden?
