Some Fun Finds...

Thank you all for your sweet get-well wishes!  I'm not 100% yet, but I am getting my voice back!  Thought I'd share a few finds from a stop at the thrift store last week!  Vintage seam binding is always a great find for me...and I love the soft buttery color on one of the rolls!  And I found another stoneware bowl...think I need to display some of these on my hutch soon!  I love the farmhouse feeling they have!

Isn't this aluminum lamb mold cute?  Fun for springtime decorating!

The colors and pattern on the vintage English candy tin are so pretty...

and I loved the colors and print on a pair of placemats, too.  Such a feeling of French Country to me!

I used one under the spring flowers I shared last post...

Here's an unusual find for me...a burlap coffee sack!  It's newer, but I love the graphics and think it will be fun to use in a project!

Finally, this old wallpaper brush has a wonderful vintage patina...

Another day...another thrift store...

I am joining Debra of Common Ground with some of my ETSY goodies for Monday Marketplace!

Until next time...

A Bit of Spring...

I've been under the weather this week with a cold and now oh-so-fun laryngitis.  So I headed to the garden store today for a much needed little pick-me-up!  Some little touches of spring color are just what I needed!  Primroses just say "spring"...two shades of pink went home with me...

And these little daffodils are so sweet...

I even love the look of the shoots coming out of the ground!

And I spied this charming lady at the shop...a big, heavy formed concrete bust (from a hollow mold, so at least I can move her) with a great classical distressed appearance!

I think she's a beauty...and she'll probably find a place in my gardens this year...

Until next time...hope you have a wonderful weekend...and I've got a date with a soft blanket and some magazines!

More Goodies In the Entryway...

Recently, I had a couple of thrift store finds that were perfect to use in our entryway re-decorating project!  This great clock is perfect for the big wall going up the stairs.  It is new, but with lovely vintage styling, and is a huge 31" across!  Sometimes, I'm amazed at what people give away...

I already had this old wood piece that had been used over a window in an old house.    I used it under the clock as an anchor and to break up the tall 14 foot high wall space.  I love the  crackled and chippy patina...

From downstairs, you can see how high this wall is, but I wanted to keep it simple and uncluttered...

We are very happy with how it looks from both upstairs and downstairs!

I also found a charming vintage bread basket which previously held baguettes.  I decided to use it on the mantel to hold some of last year's dried hydrangea instead...

Love the colors...

It's very simple, but just enough for me...

I'll be joining Debra at Common Ground for this week's Monday Marketplace!  If you haven't visited or participated yet, be sure and stop by...it's like a virtual flea market!

Until next time...

Some Fun Finds...

The weather has been wonderful in Minnesota...so warm...I even went to a garage sale this week!  Unheard of for the middle of March here!  Didn't buy anything, but it was just fun to be there!  I did have some fun thrift store finds this week!  I love these boxes of vintage Made In Japan flag picks!

Metal medical chart clipboards are fun for displaying artwork...

Aqua canning jars are never passed by...

and vintage flash cards are fun, too!

Isn't this a lovely old lamp?

I also had a wonderful etsy buy from my friend Liz of the beautiful blog,  Liz Loves Vintage!  I haven't seen Bingo cards like these before...they'll be fun for artwork!

I love her fun vintage lay-away tag, too!  You might want to check out her fun etsy shop to see what goodies you can find!  Thank you, Liz!

Until next time...enjoy the weekend!

Pillow Fun...

Recently at a thrift store,  I found three old cotton crochet pillow covers!  I decided to do a simple re-do on them...and now they have a whimsical look!

I used embellishments that aren't permanent, so I could change them out if I wanted to.  I took a wired black and white gingham  ribbon and tied some vintage millinery daisies onto this pillow...

On this pillow, I wrapped a piece of upholstery webbing and pinned on a vintage brooch...

On the third pillow, I threaded a black grosgrain ribbon through a vintage buckle and tied the ribbon around the pillow.  For fun, I glued an old watch face onto the buckle!

Very simple embellishments, but I love how they turned out!  I am doing some re-decorating in our bedroom, and two of the pillows will be part of that.  I'll be sharing the changes soon!

I'm joining Linda of Coastal Charm for the always fun
