More From The Bachman's Summer 2011 Ideas House...

Ready for more from the Bachman's 2011 Summer Ideas House?  If you missed part one, just check out my previous post!  Thank you SO much for all your nice comments about these posts- the house really is full of inspiration!  Today, I'll share the living room/sunroom area, and the two bathrooms!  There are many more natural elements in the decorating!

I love how these benches were stacked as shelves...

These wonderful paintings on old baking sheets were done by Minnesota artist Suzanne Thiesfeld !  I love the old yardstick faced shelves...

An old file cabinet is re-purposed as a plant stand...

This shutter wall is one of my favorite ideas...I plan to do this in my sunporch!

The wall above the fireplace is covered with round placemats and the sunburst mirror is made with wood shims!

The coffee table is made with salvage and scrap wood...

Lots of plants...

More chicken feeders with succulent gardens...

a vintage hospital tray is used as a side table...

The sunroom has another twig fencing light fixture...

and look at the great pipe and wood display shelves!

There are two bathrooms in the house~ a small powder room off the kitchen and a full bath upstairs.  The powder room wall is decorated with wood basket lids used as display backings...

and an old galvanized bin serves as storage.

The cheery flowers look so great in re-used bottles...

and I love the sweet curtain...

and the cute clothesline style towel hanger!

The upstairs bath has lots of whimsy!  Look at these cute towel hook displays...

and the graphic toilet paper holder!

Old metal window trim is wonderfully re-purposed as a wall shelf over the sink!

I love this charming old trellis used to display photos on ceiling tin pieces!

Magnetic clothespins add a fun touch!

Finally, a piece of vintage garden fencing becomes a rack above the shower, with the addition of hooks!

Next time we'll visit the three bedrooms and the fun media room!  Hope you are enjoying the tour!

Until next time...

The Bachman's Summer Ideas House 2011

Time for the Bachman's Summer Ideas House 2011 tour!   For those of you who are just learning of this inspiring house...Bachman's is a well-known floral, gift, and garden business in the Twin Cities area.   The house is a historical family home on the flagship store property and is now used to showcase ideas and products, as well as raising money for the Children's Home Society and Family Services.  It is always full of wonderful ideas.  There are links to previous houses on my sidebar, if you'd like to see more!  And the Spring 2011 Ideas House is here.  I'll break this tour into four posts.
I had a wonderful girls' day out there with my sweet friend, Suzanne, of  Privet and Holly !  We toured the house, shopped the store, and had a leisurely lunch at the great Patrick's Bakery and Cafe at Bachman's!  A perfect day!
The tour starts in the front porch.  The theme this time is "New Naturals Celebrate the Outdoors."  The porch features a dining and serving area, and lots of plants and garden ideas!  These fun lockers provide storage next to the door...

I love the vintage beverage crate used as a bar...

and the garden rake used as a wine glass holder!

Chicken feeders were used in many places for plants...lots of succulents!

Vintage garden fencing, with a glass top makes a fun table...

The dining room features more natural elements...

Mirrored cake pans hang above the salvaged wood wine rack...

Aren't these placecard holders cute?

Here's a lovely beverage serving bar...

and plants displayed in test tubes...

The light fixture used twig garden fencing for an unusual chandelier...

The cheery kitchen is next!

I love this wooden spoon chandelier...

and this great vintage garden gate repurposed as a pot and display rack!

A large breadboard was painted to serve as a chalkboard!

The colors in the open shelving are charming~ and don't miss the wooden spool cabinet door handles!

Look at this!  A vintage shopping cart provides more storage!

Isn't this a fun cookbook rack?  Chicken feeders are wall mounted on a burlap background...

And it's magnetic, too!

Well, that's it for part one...next time we'll tour the Living Room, Sunroom, and Bathrooms!

Until next time...

Lilac Love...

With spring comes the lilacs!  Don't you just love them?  They are here for such a short time!  We have a few varieties, including one which will bloom in early June.  I took some photos on a rainy morning here in Minnesota and played a little with some more of Kim Klassen's textures in Photoshop Elements.  These were taken on Creative Automatic mode with my Canon Rebel T2i...

This one just used a screen blend mode...

This one is as taken, just cropped...

Lilacs make such a beautiful photo subject!  I am joining~
