My Neck of The Woods...

I've really enjoyed looking at some of your spring posts, as we have had 15" of snow fall in the last day and it is still snowing!  Last week was 50 degrees and a lot of snow melted...I can't imagine how deep it would be without that melting!

The front entry is still decorated with skates, but the "Let It Snow" sign is long put away...I think the neighbors would be after me, if it was still on the porch!

My husband cleared the driveway with the snowblower last night, but winds have blown snow everywhere...

The poor pugs aren't too happy about this deep stuff either~ we have to dig out a space for them, too!

Hope it's warmer in your neck of the woods!  And those of you in this same storm...I feel your pain!

Until next time...I'm dreaming of summer at the lake...
Linda

  1. Oh my, your photos look like my place does. I know just how you feel...it was melting this time last week, then a blizzard blew through and left us with -29 deg. Celsius. Yesterday it was -40 with wind chill. I think you might have similar weather to us, except we aren't getting any snow until later this week. We'll see what that leaves behind. Our city is looking for places to pile snow, they have filled acres and acres with it and are looking for more room!
Spring will come eventually, I think...right?

  2. This spring weather will be gone again in a few days. The cold will just feel that much worse. Ugh. Sorry you have so much snow. I see it all over the news.

  4. Well, it seems that Winter does NOT want to leave your area of the country. I'd heard about the snow up there! It IS pretty (and I love your skates) and I'm sure the grass and trees will love it come Spring.
No snow here in my neck of the woods at 8,000' in CO....but Spring (for us) is usually cold and snowy and icky until May. So you'll be seeing flowers and birdies and such WAY before us!
    Pretty yard you have btw!

  5. It's amazing to me how we can live in the same country yet have such different weather. It has been in the 70's here in south GA the last few days...unseasonably warm for this time of year. I hope it doesn't mean our summer is going to be as hot or hotter than last year...it was almost unbearable. In a few months I will be begging for some of your snow:) It's beautiful!!

  6. Your photos are beautiful!
I'm starting to forget what snow is like! Where I live now snow is a rare occurance...and if it does snow it is gone the next day...I still miss it at times.
Don't worry we are almost into March...spring is around the corner!!

  9. Wow! I thought we had it bad! Ours had all melted away last week too, and now we have about 10" of new stuff! The kids have another snow day tomorrow already because I'm sure the country roads are impassable. Sooooo that means no set schedule and more creating time for the mom!!! Now that is something to smile about :) Stay warm! Theresa xoxo

  20. It's amazing how much snow you have gotten. It has been warmer here this weekend but I don't think it will last. Your wintry shots are just beautiful. Although I'm sure you are tired of it!

  22. Linda, I so enjoyed these beautiful photos, though I sense y'all are ready for winter to be done! Here, in Texas, it's been 70s and 80s, though our cool front has put us back to the 60s. Way better than those summery 110+ summertime woes! Take care! ~ Angela

  27. Oh my Linda! I just can't believe you live in that much snow! I had to show your photos to my husband. I do love the fresh snow, and so great for photos, but I guess not much else right now huh? That photo of the birdhouse is my favorite! Just remember, soon I will be crying over our triple digit temps and you will be relaxing by the beautiful lake and green grass! :-)

  28. Oh my word girl, you have a LOT of snow!(but it is pretty...don't tell you neighbors I said that, or they might come after me too!lol)
I found a pair of skates at our local peddlers mall last week for $8.95...yay! I wanted them for my front door for next winter. :)
Thank you for your sweet comment on my tea for two tablescape..I appreciate it so much! :) I did all that at 4:30 this morning! I woke up with a headache and when I can't sleep, I have to play. :) Glad you liked it!

  29. Definately warmer over her (UK) but not as pretty - very grey and miserable. We don't cope well with snow here ;)

I spotted a crocus in flower in my garden today and the little daffodils are opening too.

  32. I'm in the same boat here, it not fun at all. I was getting all ready for spring but now I know spring was just teasing me.

This may be horrible to say - forgive me - but the girls and I had to play rock, paper, scissors to figure out who would dig out the poop path in the backyard for the dogs - horrible I know, but so VERY necessary. LOL

  38. Oh Linda, I know you are so looking forward to Spring but your pictures are beautiful! I'm so glad we don't get snow like that here in Maryland. It's rare when we do.

    Have a wonderful day,

  39. Your pictures are so pretty but I'm sure that living with all the snow you've had this year is pretty difficult. It certainly has been a harsh winter across the entire country. I'm in California and we've had a fairly mild winter but it has gotten quite chilly again. Our mountains are covered with snow and now they say that San Francisco and LA will get a dusting of snow this weekend. I sure hope it's an early spring for everyone. Your area has been very hard hit this year. I hope you start seeing robins soon!

  40. Wow, that's a lot of snow! I can't imagine. We've been fighting the urge to run our AC here in Mississippi. :(

  41. Oh my Linda....A winter WONDERLAND if EVER I saw one....It looks GORGEOUS but I don't know if I could 'deal' with it for months on end though.... :o) !!

Autumn (Fall) is approaching here & I'm feeling a little 'blue'....I LOATHE the end of summer & daylight savings....Especially seeing our Aussie summer has been so wet....** sigh ** ....I HOPE the weather warms for you sooner rather than later....!

Cheers for now from SOGGY Oz,
    Tamarah :o)
