A Very Simple Project and Something New!

Not too long ago I found an old slide box filled with these fun industrial looking slide trays! They are open across part of the base, but  I thought there must be lots of fun ways to use them~ holding sparkly glitter jars, perhaps...or maybe tea bags, splenda bags, etc?  They originally held 2" x 2" slides.  I decided to use one at Junk Bonanza...I used these stick on letters...

and put them on the graphic numbered label side...

It became a perfect place for these...

Fun, huh?  Can you think of some other fun uses for these?

If you don't have a source for these...I have a few in our new etsy shop  Romantic Farmhouse!  You may have noticed the new widget on the sidebar~ we just opened this week!

This is our second shop and we will be listings lots of fun items!  I hope you'll pay us a visit and check it out!
Until next time...

The Bachman's Fall Ideas House Part Two...

Today I'll continue the tour of the Bachman's Fall Ideas House!  In my last post I shared many decorating ideas, today I'll share the fun holiday decor ideas!  I love the white pumpkin decorated with tacks!  And look at this fun planter idea~ the rake is upside down in the planter and has a hook on the side to hold a candle lantern...

These graters made fun fall flower holders~

A simple window treatment was created with branches and corn...

The garage was set up for a Halloween party~ I love these old shutters and scary portraits...

They enlarged photos in vintage frames and added Christmas lights in the eyes~ spooky fun!

Look at this fun owl...

It looked like a mad scientist's lab with all the lab glass...

These paper cones in an old plant stand, make fun candy holders!

Burlap coffee bags on straw bales make fun seating...

and a vintage tool box served up spooky drinks!  See how they used an old bed spring to hold the straws?

An old rake top displays mini pumpkins...

This picnic table looked so pretty topped with loose weave burlap and mums!

The outdoor fireplace is decorated for the season, too!

The potting shed had this fun bench and a great plant holder rack ...

Remember this old sofa frame?  This time it was planted with mums!

The charming gazebo area had a lovely seating area to take it all in...

It was a great time and lots of fun ideas!  I'm looking forward to the Holiday Ideas House Nov 11th-Dec 5th!  I hope you enjoyed the tour as much as I did!
Until next time...

The Bachman's Fall Ideas House Part One...

Last week we went to the Bachman's Fall Ideas House in Minneapolis!  This is the third seasonal house this year~ I have done a series of posts from the spring and summer houses~ there are links on my sidebar, if you would like to visit those, too!  I am breaking this house into two posts~ general decorating ideas, and the second post will be fun seasonal ideas!  I had some camera trouble so all my photos did not turn out, but I was able to get lots of their creative ideas!  This big wall clock was in the dining room and was made of salvaged picket fence and metal pieces~ so graphic...

How about this fun family message center?

I LOVE how they used rolling pins to hang art!

Burlap coffee bags became easy graphic valances...

and this vintage file drawer became a soap holder with a hook for a guest towel.

Vintage washboards were used to deliver a message...

and old insulators were used for creative towel hooks!

Old gears, pulleys, etc, made fun wall art!

In the living room, there was this fun bar made from a machine shop cabinet...

I love how they faced the shelves with old yardsticks!

They covered the fireplace wall with tar paper and wrote a fall poem in chalk!

An old bed spring served as a great backdrop on which to clip artwork...

and look at this fun frame idea!

This creative take on a bus/subway sign, was my favorite idea!  I love how an old ladder was used as a display base for the signs...LOVE it!

Globes always make great graphic design pieces...

A pallet was used as a TV wall mount and storage...

and rolled newspapers make a funky table base!

The whimsical boy's room had an automotive theme~ look at this fun headboard...

Car door and window handles were fun on the dresser...

and the gas pump nozzle was a decorative hook!

One more idea... from the upstairs bathroom~ this big scale holding TP!

There were lots of fun and funky ideas in this house!  In my next post I'll share the whimsical seasonal ideas!
Until next time...

I love the patina on this great old horn !

There were some more romantic finds this week, too~ like this cute round embroidered pillow sham...

and this set of HIS and HERS embroidered pillowcases with lovely crocheted edging...

I also had some fun finds at the Haupt Antiek Market monthly sale!  I love this old table runner found in dealer Pam S's space~ it has wear, but is so sweet to me...

And look at these fabulous vintage French Floral cards~ I bought 20 of them~ such lovely graphics! Deb Haupt, the shop owner, picked them up on her recent trip to Europe!  They are softer and even more lovely then this photo shows...

I found these wonderful big rolls of seam binding in dealer Pam C's space...

Another fun find was this old reader in Kari's space...
